The Third Partner Meeting under the LangMOOCs Project
The third transnational meeting for this project was held on the 18th and 19th of February 2016 in Trondheim, Norway. Representatives of all partner organizations took part in the meeting which was hosted by the Norwegian University of Technology and Science. During two days all of the participants worked very hard in order to summarize what has been achieved within the project so far and what should the partnership’s next steps be.
Jessica Borniger (Iberika education group gGmbH) presented the first version of the LangMOOC Toolkit. Through discussions it was agreed that the target audience for the Toolkit are non-university learning providers such as colleges, other educational providers include (managers, teachers and technicians). Afterwards partners discussed in detail the creation of the Open Educational Resources based on authentic learning materials which was led by Musarat Inayat (Community Action Dacorum). Each partner should prepare 6 lessons for teaching the languages (Greek, Italian, German, English and Norwegian) in A2 level which will later be uploaded to the Moodle platform hosted by NTNU.
Francesca Vacanti (CESIE) introduced the participants to the draft version of the Italian lessons. Through discussions and presentations of different examples of lessons the partnership managed to agree the structure and approach for the development of the lessons. Bogdan Voaidas (NTNU) explained the participants how to create learning content which is fully compatible with Moodle.
The next important phase of the project: the delivery of 5 pilot MOOCs for language learning was also discussed and partners decided that the pilots will start on 1st June 2016.
Dissemination and evaluation activities were also summarised and George Bekiaridis (Active Citizens Partnership) talked about the financial reporting of the project. It was mutually agreed by all partners that the final partner meeting and transnational dissemination event will be organized on the 24th and 25th of November 2016 in Hemel Hempstead, United Kingdom.
